Kaziranga National Park is in Assam and is one of the oldest park in India and it is the largest habitat for Indian single horned Rhinos. Spread across an area of 430 sq. km, their lush green flood plains are some of the most fascinating wildlife in Asia. Kaziranga is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park divided into central, eastern and western sectors. Kaziranga is a major tourist attraction for nature lovers who can watch animals in the wild at close quarters.
Kaziranga hosts a rich and diverse population of almost 42 species of fish, 9 species of Amphibians, 27 species of Reptiles, more than 491 species of birds and 35 species of Mammals. Kaziranga is the ideal habitat for the great one horned Rhinos. The total number of Rhinos in the park totals more than thousand which is 70 percent of the total population of this species in the country. A part from being the home of the one - horned Rhinos, it is also the natural habitat of wild Buffalo, Magnificent Swamp Deer, hog deer, wild boar, Hillock gibbon, capped langur, and rotel. Among the larger mammals there are almost 86 tigers, 1048 elephants, 2048 Rhinos, 1431 buffaloes, 486 swamp deer. Kaziranga also homes of more than 546 species of flora.
There is also a rich variety of avian population that are real pleasurable to watch. The bird population rises in winter when others migratory birds visit at the park. There are several watch to way that have been setup for an Ariel view of the wildlife park. Kaziranga have about tigers which is the highest density of tigers in the world. Visitors seldom see tigers due to the dense, tall grass. The Rhino is the real star of the park. Kaziranga also has one of the very last population of truly wild Asian water Buffalo, but even here there are many feral descendants of domesticated water Buffalo, and hybridization occurs. Kaziranga park is really unique from the other forest reserves in India, owing to its massive size and kaleidoscopic variety of flora and fauna.

By Air : The nearest Airport is Jorhat town (97 km) and also Guwahati (217 km) from the park. Jorhat is connected to Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati by direct flights.
By Rail : The nearest rail-head is Furkating which is about 75 km away from the park. And it is well connected by trains from Delhi and Kolkata.
By Road : The main gate for Kaziranga at Kohora is on National Highway - 37. ASTC and private buses stop here om their way to from Guwahati, Tezpur and Upper Assam. Guwahati is about 217 km , Jorhat 96 km and Tezpur is 75 km from the park. Of entering the state of Assam via Guwahati, take a bus from there to Kaziranga National Park. Bus fares varies between private and government service.
